This month, we’ve been tackling everything from fundamental mains power cleanup to flagship dual-mono amplification.
On the review front, we’ve continued our step-by-step exploration of the New Naim ecosystem, looking closely at the audible performance jumps as you navigate various upgrade paths. We also took an in-depth look at the Unitra WSH-805, a flagship dual-mono integrated amplifier that brings retro aesthetic appeal together with serious modern analogue performance. 🎵 New Music
It’s been a great month for music, with AVID Ingenium leading the way. A copy of Phoebe Bridgers’ new album passed over the Ingenium, which was a thrill. The AVID Ingenium SE has sparked a deep dive into my vinyl collection, where my collection of 1980s New Order 12″s resurfaced; they are in mint condition too and sound fantastic. I have everything from 1983 to 1986, apart from the 12″ of Sub-Culture; I’m on Discogs as we speak.
Featured albums this month have included Charlie XCX and Ariana Grande, as well as my Album of the Year contender from Brandon Flowers, THRASHER. Other surprising releases this month have included one from another 1980s post-punk favourite, The Duruntti Column. This album, called Ranascent, is a strange but engaging ambient music album, and I have played it a lot whilst writing.
