Elipson has unveiled its new Classic Sub lineup of active subwoofers, designed to bring foundational depth, precision, and musicality to both hi-fi and home cinema setups. Built around light yet rigid glass-fibre driver cones and Class D amplification, the subwoofers deliver tight, punchy bass without, they claim, overhang. The series also includes advanced audio features, including DSP Boost that provides up to +6.3 dB at 33 Hz for extended sub-bass performance, plus user-friendly options like an adjustable crossover, phase control, line inputs/outputs, and auto-standby. The Classic range complements the recent launch of the Premium Sub.
The lineup features three models tailored to different room sizes and performance needs. The entry-level Classic Sub 8 (£299) offers a compact solution with an 8-inch driver and 150 W of power, perfect for space-conscious users seeking responsive sound. The mid-range Classic Sub 10 (£449) steps up to a 10-inch driver and 200 W amplification, delivering versatile, deeper bass suitable for medium-sized living rooms paired with bookshelf or floorstanding speakers.
At the top of the range is the flagship Classic Sub 12 (£599), a high-output subwoofer equipped with a massive 12-inch driver and 300 W of Class D power. Engineered for large living spaces and home theatre enthusiasts, the Sub 12 delivers maximum sound pressure and deep physical vibrations for demanding film soundtracks and music.

About Elipson
Created in 1938, Elipson is the oldest French Hi-Fi manufacturer. A pioneer in sound innovation, Elipson has consistently set new standards by introducing patented technologies that have revolutionised modern acoustics. Several of the brand’s competitors still use the internal resonator, along with acoustic phasing and symmetrical loading techniques. AV Industry took over Elipson in 2008 and sought to revive the avant-garde design and sound perfection that had made the brand so successful.
Based in Paris, Elipson is internationally recognised for its original designs. Its “cult” models feature a spherical shape and a reflector, creating a distinctive sound signature that matches their unique sculptural design. Elipson also produces in-wall speakers, portable speakers, and a range of streaming electronics, proudly made in France.
