Oooh, this looks nice, a baby brother, or sister maybe, to the MOON 780D v2. This is SimAudio’s new streaming DAC drawing on the fabulous £13,500 780Ds leading-edge technology advances. I’ll hope to hear this soon. The Press Release talks of many digital inputs with PCM up to 32bit/384kHz and DSD256. It sounds like the premium streaming services are fully catered for including TIDAL Masters, Qobuz Sublime+ and Deezer Hi-Fi. The rest of the toys are here too including Bluetooth aptX and there is ethernet connectivity to ensure absolute signal stability. The 680D is Roon-ready and MQA certified too. It is designed with the 600i v2 integrated amplifier in mind, an amplifier I loved and reviewed in April this year (see the link).

John Carroll of Renaissance said;

The 680D streaming DAC is the response to the many requests we have had from both consumers and retailers who wanted to get close to the performance and flexibility of the 780D v2, but at a more affordable price point. The 780D v2 remains our reference performer, but with the 680D we now have a perfect partner for the 600i v2 amplifier!
