Introduction

The Edifier R2750BD Mk II speakers are priced at around £350 per pair, and as an amateur music lover, I find that what they offer at this price far exceeds the needs of a regular day-to-day listener.

Design and Features

The Edifier R2750BD is a three-way speaker designed to separate the high, low, and midrange tones, giving music a fully balanced, well-rounded sound. It has multiple inputs suitable for optical, coaxial, and RCA connections, so it is compatible with TVs, gaming consoles, and more, allowing for multiple uses and locations to get the most out of the R2750BD model. Bluetooth is also a key feature of the design.

Differences to the Mk I

The Edifier R2750DB Mk II significantly modernises the original model with upgraded connectivity, improved acoustic hardware, and modern digital features. Most notably, the Mk II adds an HDMI eARC port with CEC support for direct TV integration and seamless volume control via your TV remote. Wireless capability sees a major leap from Bluetooth 4.1 to Bluetooth 6.0, adding LDAC codec support for high-resolution streaming alongside multipoint pairing.

Under the hood, the Mk II steps up to slightly larger physical drivers—a 7-inch woofer and 4.5-inch midrange—driven by a bumped 144W RMS four-amplifier Class-D system. Backed by updated 24-bit/96kHz DSP, it achieves official Hi-Res Audio (Wired & Wireless) certifications with an expanded high-frequency ceiling of 40 kHz (up from 20 kHz). Finally, the Mk II introduces app control via EDIFIER ConneX for custom EQ tuning, preset switching, and firmware updates, transforming the speakers from a traditional active monitor into a fully featured modern hub.

The speakers also have a compatible mobile app called EDIFIERConneX, which allows for personal customisation and enhancement of the streamed music. There are multiple enhancement options, including a vocal focus that draws attention to the song’s lyrics and adds a level of depth that can be easily missed.

The Dynamic setting allows for richer bass in the played music, making it well-suited to the pop and rock genres, as well as to songs where the bass is underappreciated. There are other settings like Classic, which creates a smoother, all-round sound, and Monitor, which balances the vocals with the instruments behind them, but aside from these preset enhancements, there is a customisable category. This enhancement lets you match your personal preferences to your favourite music, creating a masterpiece perfect for the listener’s ears alone. You have full control over the textures, timbre and your chosen music. This feature alone makes the speakers valuable to the everyday listener, or someone looking for a route to explore more depth in their streaming.

Performance

These speakers provide a high-quality music listening experience, from the ease of setup to the sound quality itself. They have the option to be Bluetooth and wireless or offer a wired connection too, which does slightly enhance the quality of the music heard, but both ways to connect to the speakers offer a rich quality of sound without the ‘tinny’ noise which can often be heard on household speakers with louder volume music. The Bluetooth connection is very strong, and I have personally experienced no issues over the last few months of listening, such as music dropouts or loss of quality.

Physically, the speakers have a sleek yet professional look, with a faint woodgrain panelling on the sides and a speaker grille covering the diaphragm for a more minimalist look. They are also larger speakers; I would not recommend them for desktop use due to their size, and they are curated as mid-priced bookshelf speakers. For my personal use, I have placed them on stands to further amplify the sound; stands are not included with the purchase of the speakers.

They offer me the opportunity to stream music without the need for amplifiers (built-in), cables, CD players, or record players, whilst retaining the flexibility to upgrade to these sources.  If I’m off to university, this would be an ideal solution to my streaming needs.  One plug, no hassle, everything in the box, good sounds.

A remote control is included for powering on and off, switching to Bluetooth mode if preferred, and selecting the source output from anywhere in the room.

Overall

The Edifier R2750BD speakers are ideal for everyday listeners who want a premium sound without the premium price tag. Because they are not positioned as high-end speakers, a few compromises are noticeable, such as the lower-quality remote and their weight, which makes them less easy to move than some other speakers I have set up and reviewed.

Overall, the Edifier R2750BD speakers deliver impressive sound at a more accessible price. Similar models from other brands can cost more than £400 while offering comparable performance, making these a strong choice for anyone beginning to build a music or stereo setup.
