News this week from Edifier, who are introducing NeoBuds Planar, a wireless planar magnetic earbud. Hot on the heels of our recent reviews of the excellent Edifier Neodots and the Edifier S10 STAX in-ear monitors come these new in-ears that feature planar magnetic drivers with noise-cancelling capability.
The Neobuds Planar feature advanced planar magnetic drivers that bear a striking resemblance to the terrific Edifier S10 in-ears. The diaphragm is ultra-thin, promising an enhanced response across the frequency range and “superior sound quality”.
The Qualcomm Bluetooth module supports aptX™, aptX™ Adaptive, aptX™ Lossless, Snapdragon Sound™, LDAC, and LHDC codecs. In addition, the Neobuds Planar features 3rd-generation Qualcomm Hybrid Adaptive Noise Cancellation, which constantly adjusts the cancellation using six microphones (three on each side) based on ambient conditions. The NeoBuds Planar are controlled via the excellent EDIFIER ConneX App and feature wireless charging and a wear detection function.
