Atohm 9 Passive Subwoofer, sold in pairs

There is some exciting news here from Sun Audio.  They have announced the Purified 4 loudspeaker, a desktop/bookshelf loudspeaker with PURIFI 4-inch aluminium woofers and BlieSMa Berylium 25mm tweeters. They are configured so that each driver can be powered separately in an external crossover-type arrangement. The loudspeakers come with parameters for setting up the crossover, delays, gains and PEQ if you prefer your own external crossover arrangements. You have to enter these in the DSP. The Purified 4 loudspeaker is designed with a subwoofer in mind, a bit like the HF&MS favourite Jern loudspeakers.

Sun Audio is also announcing the Atohm 9 subwoofer, a small 9-inch subwoofer to complement the Purified 4 loudspeaker.

Finally, the package is completed with a Nord Acoustics DSP-DAC NCAS500MP Hypex NCore amplifier. The amplifier’s DSP is designed for the Purified 4 loudspeakers and has both analogue and digital inputs.

The Purified 4 loudspeakers are retailing at £2524 with the standmount tripod and £2307 in the desktop version, these prices increase with the ‘Bloodwood’ wooden finish (see the website link below).

The Atohm 9 subwoofer is £1808 (and is sold in a pair for optimum performance with the Purified 4 loudspeaker)
