HiFi Rose RA180 Integrated Amplifier launched
Oh my goodness, look at this, the HiFi Rose RA180 Integrated Amplifier is launched, and it looks stellar! The RS250 Streaming DAC was an ear turner anyway with its crazy electronics but this amplifier, with a stunning Class AD layout, looks and surely will sound the part too.
The HiFi Rose RA180 Integrated Amplifier has the next generation Gallium Nitride FET Applied Class AD Amplifier. HiFi Rose says of this technology:
In terms of power amplifier design, Class D is theoretically a topology that provides a completely linear output at 0% distortion and 100% power efficiency. To achieve the perfect Class D design theory, the switching operation speed and accuracy must be secured. To improve this problem, RA180 implemented a perfect linear output by applying a Gallium Nitride FET instead of a Silicon FET to dramatically improve the Dead Time, which affects switching speed and accuracy, to less than 1/10. The perfect linear output goes beyond the existing Class D limits and creates a natural sound like an analogue amplifier.
Who are we to argue?
The HiFi Rose RA180 Integrated Amplifier features bi-amping options, a feature-packed phono amplifier with variable EQ options such as RIAA and DECCA LP which can support MM and MC inputs and an active crossover for high-frequency output, though I think we’ll need to be careful with that one. There is also a full manual set bass and treble control. It also appears to have the option of switching between two sets of speakers, incredible!
Henley Audio is exclusively distributing HiFi Rose in the UK. The HiFi Rose RA180 Integrated Amplifier will be available from May 2022, throughout the UK’s HiFi Rose dealer network. It is priced near £5,499.00.
