Vertere has announced its new DG X turntable, an evolution of the ‘Best of 2023‘ DG-1S turntable. The new turntable draws on 40 years of industry experience and features an upgraded main bearing, motor drive, plinth structure, and suspension.

The five-layer polymer-bonded Grooove Runner X tomearm is now complemented by these new upgrades that Vertere claims can be assembled from box to groove in around 15 minutes. The DG-X can be tailored to your needs and budget with various upgrades available from Vertere stockists.

The Vertere DG X’s motor system is derived from that developed for the flagship RG-1 Reference Motor Drive. It has a programmable microprocessor with a D/A converter to provide low-distortion sine and cosine waves that turn the motor. This drive to the platter used a precision aluminium alloy pulley and a bespoke silicon rubber belt. The three-layer sandwiched platter rests on a ‘super-polished’ spindle on top of a tungsten carbide ball in the bearing housing.

The new standard Vertere DG X package with the Groove Runner X tonearm and Sabre Lite MM cartridge costs £4150 / $ 5400 and can be ordered now through a specialist Vertere retailer. The full details and specifications can be found here.
