This week’s news is from Silent Power, a subsidiary of Southport-based iFi Audio.  Today, they are launching the Silent Power OMNI LAN, an optically isolated network switch.  The Silent Power OMNI LAN is designed to replace the standard network switch, normally an electrically noisy, and jittery link in the audio (or AV) chain.

The OMNI LAN has a built-in internal optical fibre signal path that eliminates electrical noise. iFi Audio claims this optical signal path is better than ‘traditional galvanic isolation’ for isolating electrical noise. There are 13 ports at the rear, nine standard ports and four Ultra Pure RJ45 ports for streamers, libraries, or DACs.

The OMNI LAN has a dynamic data dashboard offering real-time information on the bandwidth data on each port. The iFi Nexis App allows users to access the dashboard settings on their smartphones, allowing them to monitor traffic, adjust clocking, and manage grounding.

There is a rack mount option for professional systems, made from rolled steel.
