Astell&Kern SP3000M music player launched
Astell&Kern is pushing ahead with more high-end luxury portable devices, introducing the SP3000M music player this week. The SP3000M music player features the HEXA circuit, which separates the digital and analogue signals in an independent dual audio circuit. This technology is found in the flagship A&K SP3000, though the SP3000M is smaller in size. Outputs are to balanced and unbalanced. The SP3000M also features TERATON ALPHA, A&K’s unique sound solution technology designed to offer playback; “that is as close to the original sound through effective power noise removal, efficient power management and unwavering amplification.”
The SP3000M music player has four AK4499EX DACs and two separate AK4191EQ chips that handle digital signals. A Snapdragon 6125 Octa-core processor manages the system interface, making the user experience “stable with fast and fluid movement.” The SP3000M uses an internal shield to prevent noise and electromagnetic interference from affecting the audio block.
The black (only) aluminium SP3000M has a 4.1-inch HD 720 x 1280 touch screen, weighs just 237g, and measures 69.1mm[W] x 119.6mm[H] x 18.8mm[D]. These dimensions are smaller than my Pixel 8 Pro! The 4,200mAh Lithium Polymer battery claims 10 hours of playback with a 3.5-hour charge time.
The Astell&Kern A&Ultima SP3000M is available from stockists, including Amazon and Selfridges, at £2,299. The SP3000M is also available in other parts of Europe for €2,599 and the US for $2,300.
