Alpha iQ has a MM Phono Preamp stage

Alpha iQ are all-in-one powered loudspeakers, best of all, controlled by the BluOS multi-room streaming platform. All you need to do is plug each speaker into a power outlet, they have built-in amplifiers that power the woofer and tweeter separately.  Alpha iQ has a wide variety of inputs allowing you to plug in a preferred turntable, TV, disc player or games console.  The speakers feature HDMI eARC.

The BluOS platform is available on Android, iOS and Windows and it is among the easiest to use in the game with Tidal, Qobuz, and Deezer integrated into the architecture; PSB claims there are in fact over 20 streaming services integrated offering lossless, hi resolution audio.  Connectivity of the Alpha iQ is via Ethernet, WiFi or Bluetooth.  There is a wireless connection between the primary and secondary speakers.

Under the hood, the drivers feature a 4″ polypropylene mid-bass driver with a steel basket and rubber surround and a 0.75″ aluminium dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet and ferrofluid cooling.  The loudspeakers have a fully active design, with DSP crossover and dedicated amplifiers for each driver; 60W for each woofer and 30W for each tweeter.

PSB’s Alpha iQ will be available for pre-order online on October 19, 2022, for US$1,499 / GBP£1,299 / EUR€1,499 / CDN$2,199. Retail availability will begin in late November 2022. They are available in satin white and satin black finishes.  Dimensions are (W x H x D) 145 x 246 x 192mm, and the speakers are 7.4kg a pair.  Full details are on the site.
