Well I’ve been a little quiet but then Astell & Kern announce the Astell & Kern AK380 Copper, a £3,299 flagship portable music player hewn from a 1.7kg block of copper!

There’ll be only 500 units made of this amazing product and presumably no samples to listen to!  The copper is meant to have superior shielding and conductivity delivering a different sound signature to the normal duralium based AK380.  I’m bound to suggest that if you are spending 3 grand on an AK380, you may as well spend £3,299 on a fancy copper one, it does look rather good.  Meanwhile, I will dream on, noting that the AK380 Copper comes with a bespoke V1 leather case using the same leather as that used by Louis Vuitton.
