Astell&Kern has announced today the A&ultima SP4000 Copper, a flagship digital audio player for the ages. This unit shares the same quad-DAC and octa-circuit architecture as the A&ultima SP4000 announced last year, but with a 99.98% pure-copper chassis.
The A&ultima SP4000 Copper benefits from copper’s natural conductivity and shielding, which help preserve even the finest details, resulting in sound that Astell&~Kern claim is expressive and profoundly lifelike.

The A&ultima SP4000 Copper will be a limited edition; the suggested retail price is £3,999 / $4,499 / €4,699.

Separately, Astell&Kern is announcing a dedicated premium case designed to store your portable digital player and accessories, using a PERLINGER leather case.
