Introduced by Tony Scott, Head of Brand, Cambridge Audio this week announces the CXN100 streaming DAC, a successor to the CXN V2. The CXN100 is a complete redesign centred around the StreamMagic control App, used from the high-end Edge NQ to the entry-level AXN10, not to mention the HF&MS Best of 2022 EVO 150.
The Cambridge Audio CXN100 feature the ESS ES9028Q2M SABRE32 Reference DAC with the StreamMagic Gen 4 managing full control. This new DAC offers an upgrade to the Wolfson DAC used in the CXN V2. It has full MQA compatibility, Spotify and Tidal Connect with Qobuz and Deezer built-in. The CXN100 has digital inputs including USB, Coaxial, TOSLINK or wirelessly with Chromecast, AirPlay 2 & Bluetooth. It is Roon compatible. Analogue output is available through balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA sockets.
James Johnson-Flint, owner of Cambridge Audio says;
It’s fitting that 2023 saw our iconic CXN V2 inducted into the What Hi-Fi? Hall of Fame, commemorating a remarkable reign as the best streamer in its class. Because even with CXN V2 still on the throne, we’ve not rested on our laurels. We’ve taken the next step, and CXN100 represents the next generation of network players. It’s here to take the crown.
The Cambridge Audio CXN100 features a 12cm high-resolution colour screen.
Cambridge Audio CXN100 is available now at cambridgeaudio.com and authorised retailers, priced at £899 in the UK.
