Loyle Carner’s debut album Yesterday’s Gone

The Record Store Day 2023 List has been published today, the website is here.  I’ll be looking for the following on The List and getting myself to Strummer Room Records on the day. Albums that I’ll be particularly on the lookout for include The 1975 – Live with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Loyle Carner’s rerelease of  Yesterday’s Gone, Ocean Colour Scene’s B-Sides, Seasides and Freerides as well as a limited edition version of Taylor Swift’s folklore: the long pond studio sessions.

I’ll also be making sure Strummer orders a copy of Show by The Cure and I’ll be there on the day hoping it is not sold in front of me! Show is a Live album remastered by Robert Smith and Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios that was recorded in Michigan and previously released in September 1993.

Record Store Day takes place on Saturday 22nd April at Strummer Room Records. Record Store Day releases are only available, in-store, through participating Record Store Day Shops. You are advised to contact us directly by email strummerroom@btinternet.com or tel: 01295 262202 to ascertain whether we will be carrying the release you are looking for in advance.

Stores are not permitted to reserve a product for customers so you will need to visit the store early on Record Store Day to get the release you’re after! Participating record stores are bound by the Record Store Day code of conduct which prohibits them from reserving the product for customers or allowing customers to pre-order products. Record Store Day is about the occasion and visiting the store is part of the enjoyment so our best advice is to get up early and check with stores in advance that they have your product. Only Record Store Day shops may purchase Record Store Day products legitimately. Stores are bound by the Record Store Day code of conduct which prohibits them from selling online in advance of Record Store Day or for the Monday following Record Store Day. Any remaining products will be available from participating store websites at 8 pm on Monday 24th April.
