In November 2024, The Cure finally released their long-awaited 14th studio album, Songs of a Lost World. The HF&MS Best of 2024 Album of the Year was primarily recorded in 2019, with additional work continuing until 2022; however, its release was delayed while the band toured. Songs of a Lost World would be the first Cure album to feature Reeves Gabrels, who joined the band in 2012. The album’s eight tracks were written and arranged solely by Smith, a feat that had only happened once before, with 1985’s The Head on the Door. This remixed album features remixes by Paul Oakenfold, Orbital and Four Tet.
