Ifi Audio has announced details of its GO Link 2, a USB dongle DAC that is smaller and lighter than both GO Link and the GO Link Max, recently reviewed here. The GO Link 2 bypasses the source device’s internal DAC circuitry of a phone or tablet, turning it into a high-resolution music player.
The GO Link 2 features an ESS Sabre DAC chipset that supports HiRes music files up to PCM 384kHz and DSD256. It supports all major music platforms, including Apple Music, Tidal, Qobuz, and more, bringing them up to 192kHz. The GO Link 2 is supported by the iFi Nexis app, over-the-air, which offers two digital filters – hybrid and linear – allowing users to fine-tune the sound profile to their own tastes.
The GO Link 2 is claimed to be 8% smaller and an 29% lighter than its predecessor. The DAC distortion is claimed to be reduced by up to 62% compared to the original GO Link.
