Focal has announced a new model in the Diva Utopia range this week.  It is not, as this Editor thought, a lower-priced model, but instead is a huge step up in both price, performance and size.  The new Diva Mezza Utopia is a £55,000 wireless powerhouse that is some 20% larger than the original ‘Outstanding’ Diva Utopia.  It features 500W per speaker, up from the 400W per speaker in the Diva Utopia, whilst retaining the ‘M’-shaped Beryllium tweeter and midrange drivers, as well as the now iconic styling of the Diva Utopia range.

The Diva Mezza Utopia is designed for rooms up to 100 square meters.  It retains Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology, allowing the two speakers to communicate wirelessly in high-resolution at 96 kHz/24-bit.  Additionally, the Diva Mezza Utopia features Focal’s patented ADAPT (Adaptive Acoustic Personal Tuning) technology, which uses an algorithm to calibrate the system to both room acoustics and user preferences through the Focal & Naim app.
