Audiolab is announcing this week an upgrade to the well-regarded 6000A with the Audiolab 6000A MkII. The Audiolab 6000 series represents the company’s entry-level offering, complementing the mid-range 7000 series and their flagship 9000 Series. The Audiolab 6000A MkII has upgraded hardware to enhance the specifications and performance whilst retaining its benchmark price.

The Audiolab 6000A MkII retains the same chassis, controls, and OLED display, but inside, there is a new 32-bit Sabre ES9038Q2M DAC section, phono stage, transformer, and power supply circuitry. An HDMI ARC input has been added to the Audiolab 6000A MkII, and it shares the Bluetooth module from the 7000A, which includes aptX HD.
The Class AB amplifier circuitry has been upgraded with a new 200VA toroidal transformer; the output stage retains the ample 50W/channel rating into 8 Ohms but with a bump in current output to drive more difficult loudspeakers.

The new, improved Audiolab 6000A MkII is available from April in silver or black and has an RRP of £699—just £50 more than its best-selling predecessor.
