Mavros USB with Atlas Grun
Mavros USB with Atlas Grun

Day 3 of the Twelve Days of Christmas also focuses on the source element, but this time with a cable.  Here at hifiandmusicsource.com, we have been well supported by Atlas Cables and their Mavros cables are near the peak of their product lines.  Our USB A-B cable with their Grun earthing system from a computer or streamer (depending) to a DAC offers the cleanest delivery we have experienced and as such it is a ‘reference’ here at HF&MS.

In the new year here we will be looking at Atlas’ Mavros loudspeaker cable as part of a cable upgrade project with them that has included the Mavros interconnector with Grun that features 3D printed sleeves in the RCA connectors.

We also benefit from using the shielded Atlas Hyper Ethernet cable here at HF&MS, the review is here. Of the Hyper Ethernet cable, we said in the review;

I’m prepared to argue with myself that with a pile of electronics amounting to nearly £20,000 in value I’m better off with a couple of hundred quids worth of Atlas Hyper Ethernet cable…than I am with the…patch cable … I have from Maplin.  That’s easy.

We added;

I can’t see any downside for such a moderate outlay on a decent system…

See you tomorrow as we continue the Reference System series where we move on to the amplifiers, speakers, more cables and music.

Reference System Day 1 – Chord Electronics 2go with the 2yu network bridge.

Reference System – Day 2 – iFi Audio Pro iDSD DAC.
