NAD Electronics, a leading manufacturer of premium high-performance home audio and video products, last Friday announced the new C 338 HybridDigital™ Integrated Amplifier. Priced at £599.0SRP this product is now shipping. NAD claims this as the first hi-fi amplifier to feature Chromecast built-in for music streaming.

This efficient Class D Amplifier features 50W per channel of continuous power with peak output of 150W into 4 Ohms.

As well as Chromecast, the NAD C 338 has the following:

  • Bluetooth for added streaming flexibility
  • NAD remote App for iOS and Android
  • a built in Phono stage for turntables
  • Optical, Coax, and RCA line inputs
  • subwoofer output
  • a dedicated headphone amplifier out

Based on the spec and the price this looks like a fabulous product and it reminds me of my entry into HiFi, with the now legendary NAD 3020e, maybe 25 years ago (with the old Mission 700 speakers!). With a digital spec AND a phono stage it is ready for the streaming world and the vinyl world in the same breath.
