News this week from French innovators Elipson, their W35i (previously reviewed favourably here) has evolved further to the W35 Xi. Key upgrades involve the welcome addition of Chromecast and AirPlay 2 which, alongside aptX HD Bluetooth capability makes it a well-connected wireless option. There are a  few driver tweaks in there too promising greater clarity and a richer mid-range.

The Elipson W35 Xi retains ethernet connectivity alongside the wireless specification, an S/PDIF optical, and a 3.5mm mini-jack AUX recessed to the rear, as well as the multi-room functionality, controlled in the App which supports ably Qobuz, Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Internet Radio etc. Additionally, the Xi retains Class D amplification boasting 350W in total.

The Xi is finished in deep black, and Elipson’s brand new W35 Xi is immediately available in the UK at an MSRP of £699 (€699).   The W35 Xi is available at Avoke Limited, Marlow.
