This week has seen Musical Fidelity announce an upgrade to the Nu-Vista 800 integrated amplifier, unsurprisingly it is called the Nu-Vista 800.2. Many of the key features of the 800 are retained with several improvements, some necessitated as parts become scarce or unavailable.
Notable amongst these changes are a new facia and a modernised display (with VU meters by the look of it!). This change marries the integrated amplifier into the full Nu-Vista range, which includes a power amplifier, a preamplifier and a mono-block. Other changes include a rewound transformer, promising a cleaner power supply and ‘extremely low noise’. There is a new standby feature too. There are other technical advancements that contribute to a claimed power output of 330W/channel into 8 Ohms, delivered by Nuvistor valves in conjunction with SMD technology.
The Nu-Vista 800.2 has 4 pairs of line-level RCA connectors and a pair of line-level balanced XLR connectors, there is an AV bypass. The Nu-Vista 800.2 weighs in at 41kg hinting at design and build quality that is worthy of the SRP of £10,999.00, available at Henley Audio. Full details are on the Musical Fidelity website.
