News from Karma AV this week of a new all-tube integrated amplifier from Balanced Audio Technology. Karma AV is introducing BAT’s VK80i to the UK market that builds on their flagship REX series. The REX series and this VK80i feature triode-balanced architecture that BAT promises will deliver power, resolution and dynamic performance. The amplifier has an auto-bias design that BAT claim adjusts for the ageing tubes and changing line voltage. Also of interest is the fuse-less design that can often compromise the signal path in an amplifier channel.
The VK80i uses the triode 6C33C-B tube that offers high-current performance, the system is fully balanced and has XLR inputs at the rear, there are a further 3 RCA inputs available. TheVK80i has a claimed output per channel of 55W at 8Ω/4Ω.
And boy does it look good, I’ll wager Batman himself has one of these in black (silver is available) on pre-order for September delivery, the UK pricing inc VAT is £9,995.00.
