Some News, the first of the year, of Bassocontinuo’s new Italian-made Classic Line 2.1 A/V racks that not only appear rather attractive but they look extremely affordable to me, compared to, say, a Naim Fraim set-up. Bassocontinuo is a specialist Italian equipment support manufacturer and the new range are of entry-level measurement-backed equipment supports. Like all things Italian the racks look absolutely gorgeous and can be tailored to requirements with bespoke option choices. These options include height variations (leg heights from 90 mm to 290 mm) and a modular approach allowing for additional shelves as systems grow. Five and ten centimetre cylinders are available separately to seamlessly adjust shelf height if needed.
A key feature of the Classic 2.1 line is the new ‘zero-shaking’ clamp system, which Bassocontinuo claims adds considerable stability compared to the previous design. Further features include a new cosmetic tie-rod cover made by Delrin, plus a new spike design with a stabilising washer for fine-tuning. The shelves can support a weight of 60 kg. The Classic 2.1 line has been fully tested by an independent laboratory in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano.
The shelves are now available in black, white and two new finishes Walnut and Wenge, to complement (fellow Italian) Sonus faber loudspeakers. The legs come in dark grey, milky white and silver.

About Bassocontinuo
Bassocontinuo was founded in a small laboratory in Bergamo, Italy in 2008 and now exports to over 40 countries around the world. The company has two core principles: following a scientific approach to the problem of vibration (cooperating with a prestigious independent laboratory specialising in accelerometric analysis) and following a design-oriented ethos: each rack must be aesthetically pleasing.
Bassocontinuo is strongly connected with its locale: the company cooperates with dozens of local workshops and artisans, all creating uniquely crafted goods, helping the company to bring its ‘Italianity’ to the world. Proud to offer authentic made-in-Italy fine audio racks, the company benefits from a 1,200m2 quality control department to check any single piece, nothing is left to chance.
