Hmmm, wondering why Scott 2 is in the top 1001 albums, I would be quite confident this will drop off the end of the conveyor in an updated version of this collection of albums.
Scott Walker at this time had left The Walker Brothers (who were not actually brothers but all shared Walker as a stage name, huh?!) and this is his second offering after “Scott”. The album is pop music by genre though it has a strange mix of prancing country and western and folky pop stories with heavy orchestration and wispy melodies in the second half of the album.
It is not really my cup of tea if I’m honest, the musicality enlivened by this amazing Moon 390 based system. ‘Best of Both Worlds’ is rather rambling orchestral piece that must surely form the basis of ‘Millennium’ with its cascading chorus. Otherwise, despite some bold lyrics in ‘The Girls from The Streets’ I’m at a loss as to why this is here, from all I’ve read.
