Today Focal has launched a new open backed headphone, called Focal Clear, to sit in the retail space between the Elears and the fabulous Focal Utopia headphones. The Focal Clear will be priced near £1,499.  This announcement comes alongside the global launch of the Focal Kanta floor standing speaker (see separate article).

The new Focal Clear headphones are gorgeous.  They feature the M shape Aluminium Magnesium full range driver and an exceptional aluminium yoke that is so comfortable and light (450g) to wear.  There is an all new product packaging offer with three sets of cables including 4 pin balanced XLR, 6.35mm and 3.5mm jacks as well as new hard carry case.  The cable design is new and differs from the Utopia headphones with a fabric cotton braided sheath that eliminates external noise and electrostatic charge.

Previewed at HiFiLounge’s headphone bar, near Milton Keynes, with the Questyle headphone amplifier, the Focal Clears sounded wonderfully open, controlled and clear(!).
