Having listened to Blackstar by David Bowie on Friday, and loving it so much, it is crushing for me personally he has gone. He innovated from beginning to end, what a bloody genius. Without doubt my love of music comes from listening to Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust & Aladdin Sane endlessly on my Dad’s Dual record deck in the late 70s when I was a young boy. I put on ‘Hunky Dory’ this morning and Lauren Laverne has been awesome this morning on 6Music. Planet Earth is culturally less well off this morning as David Bowie joins the gods of modern popular music, Lennon, Freddie, etc. Thanks Dad, and thanks David Bowie.
