LETSHUOER, a China-based company celebrating its 6th anniversary, has announced a new planar magnetic in-ear monitor called S12 Pro. Seemingly impossible, the LETSHUOER S12 Pro features a custom-built 14.8mm planar magnetic driver housed in a machined CNC aluminium chassis. There are multiple vent holes in the shell to offer an almost open-backed solution. A pair is coming to HF&MS in the coming months, so look out for this review, which will be very interesting. The IEMs have a ‘high-purity’ monocrystalline silver-plated 392-strand copper cable with switchable 2.5mm/3.5mm/4.4mm Jack Plugs.
The IEMs have a claimed impedance of just 16 Ohms, a quoted sensitivity of 102dB and a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz. They are retailing for £169/$169.
