HF&MS Best Ever – Tellurium Q Ultra Black II

Continuing the Best Ever awards this week, the next one goes to Tellurium Q for their Ultra Black II speaker cable. At the time, I was one of those who appreciated cables were important but I had no idea how profound the introduction of a medium to high-end cable could be and the Ultra Black II is by no means Tellurium Q’s best cable. In the review in February 2021, HF&MS said:

…the difference in performance is, well, night and day. Incredible.

At the end of the review, HF&MS concluded:

…all I can say is just have a listen if you think this review is hyperbole…

HiFi, I’m sure, is a journey and the Tellurium Q Ultra Black II experience was a remarkable staging post.  In respect of price, cables always need to be in context and listened to.  The  Ultra Black II speaker cable illustrated tangibly how important cables and accessories can be. It is a testament to the speaker cable that it has barely been touched save for a couple of cable reviews in the Reference system we have here at HF&MS.  The experience was similarly replicated with Tellurium Q with the Ultra Black II XLR cables that are a fixture between the Angel preamplifier and the Moor Amps Angel 6 power amplifier

Tellurium Q’s website is here.

Congratulations to Tellurium Q for their Ultra Black II range, in particular the speaker cable, and on an HF&MS Best Ever award.
