ifi Zen DAC with the Zen Streaming source

More awards from HF&MS, this time to iFi Audio’s Zen DAC. Although it was released in the year previously, the V2 only passed through the testing ‘desk’ at HF&MS in late summer, and it is a fine performer, winning an ‘Outstanding’ award in October. The ‘Outstanding’ award was as much a function of the price point as it was the performance because at £159 this is a simple entry path to decent quality HiFi.  Indeed, in the review we said of the iFi Zen DAC:

Alongside the iFi Zen DAC came the Zen Stream, which offered a streaming platform to complement the iFi Zen DAC.  It even powers the DAC.  The Zen Stream was also a brilliantly simple piece of high-quality engineering.  Indeed, look out for a review of the iFi Zen CAN,  which is the matching Zen headphone amplifier, similarly well-priced and offering high performance.
