Slightly under the radar, Bluesound has announced firmware updates to support MQA, thereby artist approved streams to the home. This makes Bluesound the first multi-room system to support MQA.
MQA is the revolutionary end-to-end technology that captures and delivers master quality audio in a file that’s small enough to stream or download. Bluesound worked closely with MQA to implement technology inside every Bluesound Player to ensure the listener will hear MQA encoded music and streams exactly like the source.
The BluOS App will support the MQA indicator that notifies the user of MQA decoding, glowing blue for authenticated Studio or Artist approved material, green for MQA encoding. See this article for more from me on the Pioneer XDP-100-R.
