New Pro-Ject RPM 5 Carbon announced today
This looks rather nice, the new Pro-Ject RPM 5 Carbon. Having revamped the popular RPM range of turntables, including the RPM 9 Carbon and RPM 10 Carbon, Pro-Ject today has completed the process drawing on the learning from the higher end of the range but retaining the high standards of its predecessor.
Pro-Ject RPM 5 Carbon
The Pro-Ject RPM 5 Carbon has a low resonance plinth finished in a piano gloss that is topped with carbon fibre. The chassis has a new inverted platter bearing with a ceramic ball to minimise rumble. Placed on three adjustable spiked feet resonance is minimised on the record surface. With an acoustically inert acrylic platter, a new one piece carbon fibre tone arm everything as been looked at to minimise unwanted noise at the ‘groove’.
The Pro-Ject RPM 5 Carbon comes in three hi gloss finishes; black, red and white. The Pro-Ject RPM 5 Carbon is supplied with a screw on record clamp for ultimate performance and the Ortofon Quintet Black cartridge is a proposed solution for UK customers.
The Pro-Ject RPM 5 Carbon is available now at an SRP of £899 and the cartridge option in the UK would be a further £400, fitted. Further details at Henley Designs.
