Music Fidelity has just released a Hifi compatible Bluetooth box that may blow the home file streaming market out of
the window.   The Musical Fidelity V90-BLU.  Now all you need now is a good pair of speakers an integrated amplifier and a Premium Spotify, or other, account on something that has Bluetooth (tablet, smartphone, laptop). This is an absolutely amazing piece of kit for two hundred quid.

Put simply, instead of buying a pair of Bluetooth speakers, a docking station or other speaker solution to play your smartphone music you can buy this box, connect it to your existing hifi system and you are away.

What about the quality though? Well I have played high quality (FLAC) files from my Nexus Android smartphone through the V90 using a digital interconnect to latest T+A HV amplifier and the results compared to a CD are really quite impressive indeed.  There is no discernible loss of fidelity from the source.  It is incredibly simple.

With everything being Bluetooth enabled these days and the Bluetooth aptX® specification here capable of carrying 16 bit 44.1kHz (which is CD quality) we are getting to audio nirvana, pardon the pun, and the prospect of being able to ditch Apple AirPlay, Apple AirPort Express and all the other painful Apple barriers that get in the way of audiophile fun.

All in all this is a brilliant little box, which is about as big as a paperback copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It is easy to use and for the money must be considered if you are looking for Bluetooth functionality with
your smartphone and your existing Hifi system.  Until this box goes back to the owner it is settling into my lounge for some children  friendly Spotify fun.  If you are a T+A Music Receiver or a Naim Uniti 2 owner as I am and you had some Cyrus Lyric Bluetooth envy, which I had, this little box gets you past that envy and I will argue gives you a preferable Bluetooth sound, notwithstanding the same technology is used (see my recent Lyric v Naim v T+A test).
